Located about 14 kilometers off the southern coast of São Sebastião, Montão do Trigo Island is known for its breathtaking natural scenery and deep-rooted history. The most common and practical way to reach the island is by boat, usually arranged by local fishermen from the beaches of Juquehy and Barra do Una.
Since the island does not have a sandy beach, visitors must disembark on a rocky area using a makeshift wooden pier.
