The new MTX-R regulator by Apeks is an extremely cold water regulator developed in accordance with the United States Navy Experimental Dive Unit. We got out first look at the MTX series regulators are DEMA 2016.
This cold water technical regulator performs in near freezing water at a depth of over 60 meters. Forged from a single piece of metal, the first stage is designed with heat sync like ridges to help prevent ice build up.
Patented heat exchanger surrounds the valve mechanism, dissipating the cold caused by gas expansion while drawing in the warmth of the ambient water. Ribbed diaphragm clamps on the 1st stage ensure improved heat exchange in cold water.
The MTX-R features angled HP ports for efficient hose management and transmitter fitting, and parallel turret ports allow for improved hose orientation.
The MTX-R regulator is now shipping, first and second stage $895.00 USD.
