On Saturday, April 5, 2025, the Kemperle Underwater Activities Club officially kicked off its open-water diving season under nearly perfect conditions at Pouldu. The weather was on their side, with calm seas and decent visibility—ideal for first-time ocean divers.
“With smooth waters and fair visibility, five Level 1 candidates took the plunge into 12°C water for their first fin kicks in the open sea,” shared Yann Leprevost, a member of the club. “The instructors are incredibly proud of their students. We’ve seen the results of six months of dedicated training, both in the pool and the classroom.”
These initial dives mark a significant step in the divers’ certification journey. To earn the Level 1 certification, which allows divers to explore depths of up to 20 meters anywhere in the world, participants must complete at least four more open-water dives. The certification not only broadens diving opportunities globally but also grants access to the region’s fascinating shipwreck sites.
With the season now underway and new divers progressing steadily, the club is set for an exciting few months of underwater discovery.
